Arnie: Do you stash emergency cash at home?
Brutus: Yes. I keep it in a wall safe.
Arnie: I have a more unique place - I keep mine in an empty ice cream box in the freezer.
Arnie: It gives a whole new meaning to "cold, hard cash"!
Art imitates life. U.S. Rep Charles Rangel one time chairman of the Ways and Means Committee was found to have “forgotten” assets in several places. I thought one of those “accounts” was in his freezer, but can’t find a reference to it. I did find that LA Rep William Jefferson was found with $90,000 in cash in his freezer. And a couple others with cash hidden in frozen pie crust boxes in the freezer.
Meanwhile in REAL America, where Middle Class and lower wages have been stagnant or reducing (in buying power) for 30 years now, none of us HAVE emergency cash to stash anywhere. We’ve already used it to pay rent, utilities and a minimum amount of food, NOTHING left over. Maybe if the Right would realize that people having discretionary income puts that income back into the economy, causing growth, we’d get somewhere.
The “Right” does realize it. It is the “Left” that is taxing you to death with no discretionary income left for you, so they can buy votes with all of the entitlement programs.
