It’s not a falcon, Sally.

You should have bonded with your balloon first…with some glue.

I’ve had a “trial pro account” that GC just gave me for the summer. Now they say it’s going to expire. If I don’t pay, will they eliminate the non-paid account? Will I have to register again with a different screen name?

Its GPS or voice command system must be out of order.

Trust me, Sally, it won’t come back.

Where I live, she could get fined for releasing a balloon.

Next; she takes up training cats.

I tried that with a girlfriend once, she didn’t come back either.

I can actually remember letting go of a balloon with my back turned, walking away, coming back and wondering where the balloon went to. This was before I started school.

If you love something, let it go. If it doesn’t come back, hunt it down and shoot it.

Balloons are always notoriously difficult to train. (This was the first “Peanuts” strip I remember reading first in the newspapers.)

Can’t find the strip online, but I recall that Sally did much better with a beach ball. She retrieved her beach ball (which had floated to the other side of the lake) simply by shouting an order to it to return. She calmly explained to her brother, “You just have to know how to talk to a beach ball.”

There’s something rather sad about this strip. It’s well-timed, of course, but I can imagine Sally bursting into tears next.

Here’s a balloon you will not’ want to come back!

I’ve had the dickens scared out of me in the airplane by a runaway balloon…couldn’t figger what the heck I was about to hit.
