Sounds like this week’s segment of American Idol (which I NEVER watch) during which Simon nixed nearly all the contestants efforts to try something different. Of course, nearly all of them ended up sounding the same. Boring. I didn’t agree with him on all points, but I think there was more than a grain of truth in his evaluation of the evening.
