Nah, he is the father of BD from Doonesbury, who wore various helmets for 20-some years, until he was in the hospital after losing part of one leg over in the sandbox.
I like the flaming red Afro idea better than the star tattoo idea.
But I like best of all the anticipation (or will it be ambiguity forever? - I could live with that too).
Thanks for the link to the character introductions, Joe Allen - I hadn’t seen their full names before, and I’m intrigued at how the art has morphed over the years … even before Corey took over the strip (and Corey has certainly retained the special “look” of every one of them).
