well, the removal of a steel helmet from atop the cranium of an increasingly frail and weak eighty year old plus man who is additionally suffering from flu symptoms would be a step in the right direction towards easement of pain and discomfort

SO, if he’s bald and he wears that helmet for, oh let’s say, 16 hours, I imagine a raisin on top of the generals shoulders.

What’s funnier- if he bald as an egg, or if he still has good hair?

“I woke to a reveille of sore throat and congestion.” Love that line.

Last time I was sick, I didn’t get a chance to go to sleep that night.

Nah, he is the father of BD from Doonesbury, who wore various helmets for 20-some years, until he was in the hospital after losing part of one leg over in the sandbox.

I like the flaming red Afro idea better than the star tattoo idea. But I like best of all the anticipation (or will it be ambiguity forever? - I could live with that too).

Thanks for the link to the character introductions, Joe Allen - I hadn’t seen their full names before, and I’m intrigued at how the art has morphed over the years … even before Corey took over the strip (and Corey has certainly retained the special “look” of every one of them).
