There is a book, possibly a cartoon in book form, that I read several years ago. I just looked through my bookshelves and cannot find it so it is possible it was online? But as I recall, two boys come upon a conspiracy for kids to disappear without a trace, except for a single toy found in their suddenly bare bedrooms that seem oddly familiar to the parents, though they (the parents) are unable to understand why it feels so familiar. At one point they run into a set of parents who have managed to remember their child and still retain the toy that was left behind. The toy, of course, was a stuffed tiger. The father, of course, was Bill Watterson.
A bit too tired for further research tonight, but if I come across the series again I’ll try to update.

You know that a comic is great when other cartoonists love it.
