It looks like they skipped a whole week’s worth of strips in this story arc.

Okay, just so nobody get’s confused about why this story ended up going from Calvin and Dad looking over math right to the classroom math test, I dug up the strips that were skipped over. Hopefully these show up alright and won’t slow down anyone’s browser.

@Aurora Borealis: Through the end of this year, we are reading the Calvin and Hobbes strips that were rerun in the newspapers during Bill Watterson’s second sabbatical in 1994. Those six strips were skipped in 1994, so GoComics has faithfully skipped them as they rerun the 1994 reruns of this story that was originally from 1990. Thanks for posting them.

Perhaps the Zorgs have beaten Spiff to it.

Calvin, you might end up with an Oceans Eleven, with a cloony in orbit around it.

Mysterio is the farthest galaxy out there.

Why won’t Calvin’s Mother or Father work with him on his math facts? Instead they place the whole burden on Ms Wormwood. Calvin’s dad needs to get his face out of the newspaper and help Calvin. This never happens in China or India. That is why Calvin will be working for the Chinese 20 years hence.

When I was in elementary school, somewhat older than Calvin (fourth grade?), I used to pretend I was flying my desk much like in the last panel. I would even tilt back on the rear legs to simulate ascending altitude. Discretion was employed so as to not draw the attention of the teacher, so I kept the sound effects at whisper level. However, I did not take into account the perceptions of the nearby classmates. One day, I think it was Mary Lynn who lost it, and, in a spontaneous outburst, shouted, “I can’t take it anymore! He’s flying his desk! Sound effects and everything!”
