The dark Lord of zucchini rises to full height and commands his followers.. Multiply! Or at least that's what I think must happen, Raymond. I don't know how else one vegetable just like, take over a garden.
I can only wish I had zucchini grow here like it did where I used to live. Here, it gets going then “crashes” as the zucchini worms (caterpillars) bore out the stems and kill them. I’ve never found any working remedy for this issue, either word of mouth, home and garden stores, or the Internet. So we asked a co-worker to supply zucchini… and I have gotten dozens of them, mostly the huge ones (that I can only use for making relish) that are pithy and seedy.
I’m having the ’toon problem now. Last year got Zero, new garden, bad soil; but which:
Leeroy, don’t know about your caterpillars but for earwigs, take a few empty tuna or like cans, fill them with vegetable oil, and the suckers will commit suicide by the hundreds, saving your zucchini.
I have three 2-foot long ones given to me by my neighbor in exchange for green beans. I either planted too many or the god of green beans visited us one night!
How true how true how true………I always intended to stay up one night and spy and watch 100 zukes suddenly appear. It’s a mystery.Always mean to get up at 1:59 and watch our clock automatically jump to the new time when the time changes. But, the arms of Morpheus won’t let me.

“Show me a man buying zucchini in the grocery store and I’ll show you a man with no friends”
(I always recite this when I’m in the grocery store buying zucchini.)
