I love this comic strip…it reminds me of my childhood. Telling his mom he won’t be home till supper, rather than sitting playing video games.

I guess he’s too young to say smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for breakfast.

A couple of weeks ago, a tiny frog appeared on the concrete pad just below my feet as I sit on the front swing reading the paper and viewing GoComics. It stayed perfectly still for quite some time, never moving from its original perch..Each day, the frog would reappear, almost exactly in the same spot, and a bit larger each day. Every day, as I sat outside, I would look for this frog, and it was right there, in the same spot. Then, one day last week, the frog was missing. I actually looked around thinking it was sitting in a new spot; but, I never saw it again..I miss the frog, and wonder just where it went…

That last panel is a childhood classic. It’s a keeper!

When I was Reds age back in 1964-65Polly Wolly Doodle was one of the first songs my pianoteacher taught me..These days when I hear the ice creamtruck drive by playing that song I’m transported back 50 years..:Fare thee well….Fare thee well"
