    After “The Hustler” was out for a while, Fats managed to get his own TV show. A real loudmouth who wasn’t as good as he claimed to be.

    @Colonel ClausSome comedians needed to be saturated to act otherwise they just start ad libbing their lines. I knew some actors who needed to be saturated for them to sing too.

    How many folks know Rudolf Wanderone actually adopted the nickname “Minnesota Fats” after the 1961 movie “The Hustler” with Jackie Gleason and Paul Newman? Wanderone was previously known as “New York Fats” prior to the book and film release…

    The Hustler was released in 1961 so that most people under the age of 50 would just scratch their heads over this strip with no clue as to its meaning.
