I wonder if this is supposed to be when Elly and John started taking their annual no-kids holidays.

Hmmm, an annual no-kids holiday. Sounds nice. Do I have to take my husband?

I remember having this conversation with my next door neighbor in base housing many years ago………..except we were discussing the beach in Hawaii ;)

A parents dream, then shatters. But could parents in good conscious leave there small children behind I couldn’t? When they are older and no fear of house parties with other teenagers crashing I could.

Elly’s sewing is most likely mending clothes and not a hobby. She’s just trying to get some work done while socializing.

I’m taking my first no-kids, no-husband trip in June. I’m going with my elderly mom, so it’s not exactly sleeping late and spa treatments, but it should be interesting how this goes.

Susan001: To me their expression are the same–I hope it isn’t my child and don’t let it be serious. That is spoken from the parent side(father)of me.

What do you consider young? My daughter is aged 7 and she’s spending the week at her grandparents’ house. I think it’s healthy for kids and parents to occasionally have a break. We call her every night before bedtime.

Ya, just imagine how many ways she could ruin the mood of a cruise!
