Turkey banned the use of the letters Q, W and X in names and public notices until 2013. The European starling lines its nest with aromatic herbs, a habit proven to increase the survival rate of its young. In 1965, a woman lived with a dolphin for 10 weeks in a flooded house as part of an experiment into possible communication with the creatures.

Q, W and X not in the Turkish alphabet or something?

I’m assuming, since it’s not mentioned, the experiment didn’t work…?

@bluegirl285, turns out Dolphins are lousy roommates, they blast their Whale Rock Songs loud, never clean up their dishes and are in general rude.

What did you learn today?
In 1965, a woman moved in with the Turkish dauphin and lined the royal apartment with aromatic herbs. They broke up after ten weeks because he couldn’t pronounce her name, Qwix.

The most incomplete Believe it or Not I’ve ever seen:1. Which herbs?2. Why Q, W, and X? (What if someone needed to quote a foreign word or print a foreign name?) (Were violators imprisoned?) 3. What were the results of the dolphin experiment?

The dolphin experiment was successful to the point that the woman had sex with the dolphin (not intercourse). When the experiment ran out of money it ended. The dolphin missed the woman so much it died of a broken heart. She kept journals (since it was science) and delineated her actions with the young male dolphin. She was trying to teach him to speak words.
