I knew a sheltie who devoured a whole pound box of chocolate truffles when the woman I gave them to accidentally left them on the coffee table where her sheltie could get at them. He knew right where they were, but kept quiet about them until she left the house. She got about three blocks away, remembered where she left them, and turned around and rushed home. The sheltie had polished off the box of them by then. It didn’t bother him in the least. In fact, he was more my friend than she was!

Alas! She will not give you a chocolate cookie. Or you will be drop dead for toxic poison. Sorry, Fred!

I’ve known a lot of dogs who have eaten chocolate and were just fine including a little tiny poodle.
