Well, I’m sure that plane flight has Axel concerned, even if the townsfolk aren’t.I’m just waiting to see Charlie’s debriefing, and what his photos show. And will Axel speed up his plans (whatever they are)?
I think Tracy said just the right thing under the situation. He knows there’s going to be suspicion in the air and he’d best not blow his cover. Having to think fast, he did pretty well.
Hmm, the moon in the final panel is nothing like the one we saw the B17 against. The B17 was an interesting design. They relied on gun turrets to protect against fighters, but to make them useful they needed to fly in tight formation so the bombers could cover each other. They also had to fly pretty much straight ahead during an attack, so the gunners could aim and there was less risk of friendly mid-air collisions. The British RAF Lancaster bomber, by contrast, had less guns, and they flew further apart, allowing the bombers to take evasive action. Also, the Brits preferred to bomb at night, and left the daytime action to the USAAF.The greatest strength of the B17 was in numbers. Boeing was churning them out at a terrific rate. Shame there are so few remaining.
ANNNNND once again Oliver Warbucks throws around his money and gets people to violate the law RIGHT IN FRONT OF AN FBI OFFICER to boot!
air traffic over thunder island is forbidden, but good ol’ ollie picks up the phone and vilates the order…fritz ann should slap the cuffs on him right there.
aside from this infraction and the bribery of a government official (mayor armstrong) what ELSE is ollie guilty of? well, lets see… pretty much “kidnapping” since he sent away the butcher of the balkans via punjab’s magic carpet ride, so that makes THREE.. anyone got anything else so far?
for the record, i prefer the colors fromt eh gocomics guy over teh sunday strips. sundays look so grim and gritty and dark, the vibrant colors weekly are more “tracy-esque” in my opinion
I read just recently of the passing of Jay Maeder, the last writer of the “Annie” strip. I really liked his updating of the comic. One of his efforts was to add some much needed humor. I hope that Team Tracy pictures Annie as a modern little girl when she is rescued.

Good morning fellow DT, Annie, and Terry fans!
Ahem! I know Thunder Island is off limits but couldn’t they have (secretly) sent boat(s) to the island in search of Tracy?
DaJellyBelly about 10 years ago
I’d wager that Axel has lookouts posted around that island’s shores. That is how Tracy got caught.

Just about now Axel regrets not killing Tracy when he had the chance.

Has anyone noticed that Tracy is positioning his cap in the second panel?
He’s repositioning his hat because he had to tilt it back to use the binoculars. Very natural action to take.
