We had a cat once that used to like playing cat and mouse with large rats (we lived on a farm at the time) it would bring them into the garden at the front of the house and you could just about make out what was going on in the dark, lots of leaping and squealing (a horrible noise it was) it was an awful spectacle, we would keep the windows and doors shut just in case the panicked animal ran in or in case Tuppence (the cats name) decided to bring it in. She would also when opportunity arose do the same thing with rabbits, which was a bit sad :-(
I had a cat years ago that was inside when a mouse ran across the floor…our friend said we were feeding her too much…so I tossed her outside and told her to return when she had a mouse. A few minutes later, she returned to the side door…mouse in mouth!! I told her to play with it and then she could come in…watching out the side door, that’s just what she did….and then came back inside….no more mice in the house after that!!!
This one was done before, with Jon saying, through clenched teeth in the last panel while giving Garfield stink-eye as he’s writing down the advice from the pest company: “Get… a… cat!”

Gee, how does that pest control company even make a dollar if they keep recommending the customer a cat?

Go find a new house to live in Jon. Get rid of that rat trap your living in now.Rates are low, rats are lower.

Garfield’s no ordinary cat, clearly. Obviously Jon hasn’t realized that. Garfield is too lazy to go down the basement steps anyway. Haha

Maybe if rats tasted more like lasagna…

Garfield is a perfect role model for all cats everywhere.
