For 14 years we had a very personable Black Lab, who lived for the walks. When we would turn around and head for home, he always had to carry the loop end of his leash in his mouth. And I would comment, “Well, he’s on a leash, so he’s following city code.” Occasionally we had to dog-sit our neighbor’s Basset Hound. She had to be on a leash at all times, otherwise she would run. So on our walks, we would give the handle of her leash to our Lab - and he would walk her! Cute! People in cars would stop and take pictures of the dog walking the dog!
