Israel knows we will back them no matter what they do. So the stoory here doesn’t work. Zack should only feel like Israel if his mom had backed Zack no matter what he did, but she is less like the US and the UN and punished Zack for being bullied. Families should stick together and not punish the innocent.She is more like the police pepper spraying peaceful protesters.

Wait — he blew up the bully’s mother’s house and killed the whole family?

The bully hadn’t been doing his best to kill Jan and everybody else in the house either. The analogy only goes so far.

Protesters are only “innocent” if they do not break the law. Arson, looting, and even illegally blocking access to roads, sidewalks and commercial establishments are all beyond the scope of legitimate protest. If you commit a crime using any of those methods you will be arrested. Should you resist arrest, measures will be rightfully used to force you to comply. Likewise if you fire ballistic weapos into someone elses soverign territory you will be dealt with accordingly. Responses are not tit for tat, you use whatever force is required establish the peace.

Well, I had been hoping to learn the truth about Grumbine, but they clearly either a) know nothing about the conflict in Palestine, or b) are deliberately distorting reality to make the “Israeli” occupiers appear the innocent victims here.

Either way, I’ve got one less comic strip to read in the morning.

There are two sets of history on the conflict, which ever one you read controls which side you back.

You know, parents like her end up wondering why their kids won’t talk to them, never figuring out that its because they never listened in the first place.

Zack tried to hit him back?With this same logic, assault victims should also be arrested for “participating in a fight” :P :P :P

What does getting beaten up have to do with Israel? Does Zack have loads of arms to throw back at Skull or something? Or does he mean that he is Palestine?

And, who punishes their child for being bullied? I think Mr. Deering and Mr. Newcombe should call a do-over on this entire strip.

But it wasn’t Zack’s fault for fighting Jan!! It seems Zack’s left frame needs to be fixed.

Dear John, you had a serious thing going about bullying – and then you had to throw in Israel? That simply killed what I presume was your point about being bullied and not being believed. Now everyone’s arguing about Israel and Palestine. But you analogy fails completely because, no matter which side of the conflict you prefer, ere is no possible way to say Israel is a defenseless victim. They totally out gun the Palestinians and are not afraid to throw their weaponry around. That’s why so many more unarmed Palestinians (especially children) were killed while relatively few Israelis were. Zack, on the other hand, has no defense but to run and hide or tell an adult (who for some reason ignore him). Way to blow it big time.

Re: mid-east conflict- should I waste my time commenting on this? At least Ban Ki-moon got it right when he pointed out that it’s the Palestinians who keep breaking the cease-fires. Israel NEVER fires the first shot.

Ugh, ok the logic in this strip just …. oh man there’s no word. A real honest problem that should have been looked at and the artist just had to drag politics that had NO connection into it so now its pounded by trolls. Ugh

Zack’s analogy to Israel would be accurate only if he had killed Skull.

Everything thats been going on in Palestine and Israel is totally the fault of the UN. They are the ones who made the Jewish nation right smack in the middle of the Palestines.

Israel is our ally. Near as I can see, Obama has kind of turned his back on them. With that being said, this is my opinion, so no lectures please. WHY IS THIS ON ZACK HILL? No place for that here, love this strip but you 2 gentlemen crossed the line on this strip.

I hope the cartoonist/writer reads these comments! You goofed big time! But I ussualy love this strip. How can a boy’s mom punish her child because he was bullied. end of story. Israel has NOthing to do with it.

Jan needs to enroll Zak in a self defense class so he can kick Skull and Bones ass into next week.
