That’s a pretty good “success rate” for repty babies. And, it’s a decent indicator that mutant sex produces offspring. The Lizard Army WILL march on.

I’m guessing that until she saw the babies, she was set to destroy the place (presumably by letting certain shrink-wrapped psychos know about it). Now? She’s got to be a bit more creative…

They’re so cute at that age before they become genocidal maniacs.

Ah, but what if your firstborn isn’t a Reptilian? (First-laid?)

In panel 1, Sarah is holding the egg away from her…by panel 3 she’s embracing it, protecting it. Or am I reading too much into it?

But look at the feet of the “person” standing by the door in frame one. That’s not a reptile, is it?

Now Aaron’s got us thinking “awwww”. Yet we know what they are being born into. Not to mention how few of the fertilized eggs got that far.

Oh my God, I can just hear the Horst-Wessel-Lied playing in the background. Fits pretty good with human history. Nasty creatures aren’t we?

When they grow up, they’ll have their own “born with a tail” urban legend, except instead of people claiming doctors amputate babies’ tails, they’ll say most eggs are non-reptilian and culled. It’ll be a conspiracy theory and denied by the government and be true. The same as the claim that there used to be non-reptilians in the colony that were purged and/or sent away to a concentration camp or reservation, and there’s a secret statue commemorating the purge. There are some people who think American Indians are mythical, like fairies and leprechauns, and they chastise those who talk about Indians as if they were ever real. This is one situation where natural selection won’t work. Non-reptilians aren’t going to breed out of the population because they don’t become non-reptilian until after conception. The genetics for animal type are external. Everyone one is conceived equally human, and after mutation, some are more equal than others.

So far, all of the reptilians look similar. They make me think of an anthro monitor lizard.. That begs the question whether other types of reptiles would be accepted. For example, we’ve already seen Ally, who was an Alligator mutant. Would she fit in here? How about a snake mutant, or chameleon mutant.

    What do these babies eat?

So, I would speculate that Phil’s “dirty little secret” is that Chick is a food egg that he allowed to be born rather than eaten – and possibly his ‘son’…

The babies are cute. Most baby any things are cute. She seems to be seeing them as a woman who always wanted a baby. But here, don’t think your baby would be claimed and raised by their mothers.Quite the del-lima for Sarah!

Remember that instinctual species trouble some mutants have when they change? Perhaps mutants have the survival imperative being imprinted on them, and this is something Sarah will need to combat within. They are pushing the buttons to align her inherent reflex reptile loyalty.

Been off moving the past week. Kept up on the IPhone. What you have in this colony is what would occur in an post apocalyptic aftermath. All the survivors will settle out into groups of similar interest and purpose. Some will stay and some will take issue and leave. This group is all lizard as they are bigger, stronger, and shoot others in the back so they won. Think of the Nazi and their rise to power. A belief in a single race superior to all others. They viewed the others as usable “servants” for their cause and others for eradication as they were in the way. The Nazis had the same plan….breed a new Aryan race to rule the world. It starts as innocent babies and we in our universe know how that worked out. I remember one ex Hitler Youth person on the History Channel say about those times being the worst case of child abuse in history in raising of the Hitler Youth and such.Sarah is being recruited….this is all planned out even giving her the egg with all the egg.citement. (could not resist). But remember this…Sarah and Jim did the wild thing back when they “adapted” their uniforms……is Sarah pregnant?? And if she is does this idea of “Reptile Cool…Others Food” run well in her mind…..Remember Holly….“I lost the baby”.Enjoy your eggs.

They’re superficially lizards, but the females still have breasts. I expect the baby lizards nurse for food.
