What is interesting in the comic strip is that a environmentally conscious person never learned how to change a tire. Either the dual smoke stacked 4×4 is an unofficial road assistance vehicle or the couple are friends to the owner of the Toyota hybrid.
I think the point will was making was that the NRA member stopped to help the car with the Peace sysmbol on the back. But, I don’t find that surprising at all. As Gen MacArthur said, “The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war.” And many of us are NRA members. Just because you are educated on the use of firearms and advocate the education of safe firearms usage to others, doesn’t mean you don’t desire peace.
But, I agree Will: It is always nice to see folks helping each other out, regardless of how frequently it happens. It is nice every time.
@gcwh – unfortunately now there is what is called “asymmetrical” or “urban warfare”, where a weaker group attacks the civilian population of a stronger group from within the middle of its own population, thus putting most of the burden of the “wounds and scars of war” on their own civilian population.
Sorry Nabu, can’t agree. I live in Pittsburgh and have COPD and a balance disorder so I have trouble walking. Every day at least one person stops when I’m having trouble walking to see if I need help. The other day 3 people stopped, one even pulled his car over, losing his spot in line during rush hour, to see if I wanted a ride or needed an ambulance. People are good all over if you let them. Perhaps you put out some kind of “keep away” signal that makes people avoid you.
Agreed! I had a flat many years ago on a freeway and as I was getting the jack and cheater bar out a cab stopped and the driver insisted on doing for me. As I was wearing heels and a dress, I was happy enough to accept the help. It was obvious that I had little money and he did not ask for my number. Just a nice guy helping someone out expecting only good will and a thank you in return.
We can tell that Nab has never lived in SF. No local would ever dare call it Frisco. Therefore he has no knowledge of how helpful the people of the city are.

Hey Nab nobody is listening, especially the people who helped their fellow citizens on 9/11.

Hey Nabu, please stop blogging in the comic comments section. Go find a hosted website to spew.

I agree with Nabu – all he wrote is true of Atlanta also.
