I have found that 230 volts seems to keep the squirrels off the bird houses and feeders.

@dzw3030Cuddleman probably likes to see feathers stand up when the birds touch the wire; plus the squirrels tail probably stands on end when it gets shocked.On the plus side squirrels tastes like chicken.
