By Gulf I, Otis was an Air National Guard Base, no longer an Air Force Base. That does increase the chances that the personnel on station were locals and, as Bucky so aptly put it, Communists.

Then:

Massachusetts ≠ Communist

Would not Socialist be a more accurate term?

How about just plain old American? No sectarianism, regionalism, theology, background, predecessors… How does it go: one people united under common purpose…?

Would that mean “One people united under one common religion”??? I told Wilbur and I told Orville, “That ain’t gonna fly”.

Otis refers to what used to be called Otis Air Force Base and is now known as Otis Air National Guard Base/

on the Cape…………although RAF Molesworth was all but dead and buried when I was stationed in the UK in the 70s.

I always thought Bucky liked communists, maybe all those other Bucky’s weren’t Bucky.
