Yeah! If the prize isn’t good enough, we’ll just keep on avoiding each other….

Why did the student body even bother attending this so-called dance if their not going to shake their booties… specially with the opposite gender?

rofl. Oh I remember this. The first dance… all the boys on one side of the gym staring in terror at the girls. then, suddenly one of the boys stammered ‘I gotta go to the john!’ and dashed out. As if on cue, EVERY BOY turned and rushed out after him!!! rofl. The principle had to go drag them back out – don’t know what he said to them, but every boy asked every girl to dance.

Guess his threat was worse than the terror of dancing with a girl!

It’s all “what’s in it for me?!” Because everyone knows boys/girls give each other cooties! =-O

The gent doing the announcing…doesn’t he remind you of the sadistic coach of about a month back?

Yesterday, my 6th-grader daughter got her ticket for her first school dance, set for this Friday, after school. She’s excited; I’m feeling bittersweet.

Will the prizes be passes excusing them from gym?

I disagree. This is public school. Everyone is Judged, but perhaps you are right that the dancers will be judged harsher.

Elementary school dances are so much simpler. The kids all run around like maniacs wearing glow bracelets and face paint. The PE teacher teaches common line dances all month long and leads the dancing. Most of the kids join in at least a few of the dances they learned in class. “Thriller” and “The Chicken Dance” probably got half the kids dancing at the same time.

He wants those kids to start dancing? In front of everyone else? Those prizes had better be…super.…There! I said it! I feel better.

I love that gym teacher. I’m glad he came to the dance.I just wish he stripped down to his briefs.
