Steve’s coalesce moment is gonna end right soon. Skippy has his eye on those cookies. He can move fast, Skippy can. Steve has lost many snacks over the years.
That’s why we send Beviek on snickerdoodle patrol when we know that someone, or a family, in Ballard County is having troubles…and why every spring, Ballard area schools join in a Snicker-doodlethon on BCTV, to “Raise dough for cookies!”
Until a couple of years ago, StelBel used to accompany her, serving milk, while wearing her famous cow suit…. That always further lightened the moment. But… not to digress…. that suit disappeared, and was assumed stolen, in a case never cracked, AFAIK, by the BCPD.That was when The Monkey was still Inspector MonkeyBlues, before his election as Sheriff, and the hiring of Deputy BatPug…But as proficient as the department has become, I doubt the case will ever be re-opened.And with a whole costume shop at her disposal these days, Stel shows little inclination to resume appearing as a cow. Still …. I raise a banana dak to the memory…Good times… good times….
Meanwhile…2Old…. not sure which you mean came from which…but I believe “Blondie” was first.
I THINK it was 2005 when many cartoonists contributed their characters to a series of Blondie strips where they were all invited to attend Blondie and Dagwood’s75th anniversary.
I’m not sure whether it was the wedding or the strip that started in 1930…. She started out as a silly flapper, named Blondie Boopadoop, and married Dagwood a year or two later.
I used to have the first years in a book.
She wore a typical late-20’s flapper hairdo, and pretty much still does. I love it, and have given similar cuts to modern clients….minus the marcel crimps, of course, but it’s great on wavy hair.
The Eddie Cantor film was “Roman Scandals,” from the early 30’s…and one of those slave girls…I couldn’t spot her in the clip but I have to try again…was a very young Lucille Ball, before she was known as a comedienne!
My mom pointed her out to me when I was probably still a teenager, and 30’s movies were still being shown on TV.

This has absolutely nothing to do with this cartoon… plus it is wrong on so many levels, but I just love the lyrics! So not PC

It took Buddha three weeks to get that coalescence.

I think Steve’s been lightening the spirits kept in the cabinet.

Milk and cookies always lighten the spirit.

Steve’s sudden soaring spirit seems somehow silly…

Upside Down Girl..
You’d have to talk to Stel… she runs the Costume Annex. She can get almost any sort of costume, though.
I do own the salon… so if you want the hairdo… or any sort of period hair or makeup… I’d be happy to accommodate.

Steve’s cookies must have been baked funny. Fluffy is not amused, in fact, she looks down right hostile at Steve coalescing levity.

Downundergirl, That film is so wrong, but funny. I didn’t recognize Lucille Ball at all. She was gorgeous.

STEL, I love your cow costumes. Do you think I could try one on? I have always wanted to be buxom, lol

Apparently, Richard is having a similar experience:

Perhaps this will clam Steve down for the night.

Way to go, Steve. Laugh at yourself and the world laughs with you.

Muffin appears to be displeased with poor Steve. I can’t imagine why she should be. There’s cookies and milk on the floor.
