With the wind conditions down there, I would think it would be difficult to 1) keep the goal posts up and 2) be able to adjust you kick when trying for a goal.I bet it’s a match where there are a lot of (frozen) Behinds. :o)
Aw, c’mon! In my family watching the Detroit Lions after noon dinner was/is still a tradition. Okay, we kids missed part of the Macy*s Thanksgiving Day Parade whilst driving to grandma’s house, but it was always in the background whilst we were setting the table, mashing the potatoes, or basting the turkey (depending on our ages. Basically, Turkey and Lions were an important part of the holiday. And we were Buffalo Bills fans, even with the 1976 loss!
I live in Norfolk, VA and had an aunt and uncle with a house on the Chesapeake Bay. I’ve seen it so cold on Thanksgiving that none of the kids wanted to go out and so warm that we all went wading.
A Thanksgiving thing that’s become a tradition is building a big sand castle. At my Granny’s house in south Georgia, she has a pile of sand for the kids and all the great grand kids work together to build a huge sand castle. (Really, we do it at any family get together there, not just Thanksgiving)

So, Roger’d still play if it was 110 degrees outside and gets a heat stroke?

Now they must live close to where I live. It’s between -10 and -20 in the region. Ever feel a cushioned seat in a car at that temp? Pretty solid.

I bet they would, but I doubt they would play Footy if the temp was -20 C or F. Not in those cute shorts.

I always thought that was an excuse to get the hyper active children out of the house so the adults could watch football.

If your football shattered, just go inside and watch a few games.

What does football have to do with Thanksgiving? Nothing…that’s what.

College Thanksgiving Day football games can be traced back to 1876 with Princeton vs. Yale. The Detroit Lions began their tradition in 1934.
