You need a big bank account to be mellow.

Nowadays that’s a 21 or 24 speed. I was riding a nice 10 speed in ’78. Super large frame, and a disc brake.

Sorry, 3-speed was more my speed.

I’ve got Olivia Newton-John’s “Have You Never Been Mellow” in my Head now!

I liked my old one-speed with pedal-reverse brakes.

My bike had 2 speeds, go and not go. Yep and pedal brakes.

Mellow is easy. Just get yourself a whole lot of good marijuana and light up. Better living through chemistry.

I still ride my 10-speed from ’76. A little maintenance and keep it out of the weather, and a decent bike will last almost forever.

I had a 2-speed, and you shifted it with a slight backpedal motion. The full backpedal put on the brakes, so it made it complicated to stay in the gear you wanted. A very weird system.

Alpha house season 2 will be released October 24, 2014, according to Variety. All ten episodes will be released at the same time, available for binge watching. It is distributed through Amazon. It is very funny! Just a few more weeks to wait for new episodes. After that, there should also be new strips soon. Lots of fun in store.

Used to have a 26" Rollfast. It only had one speed but with the longer crank arms it easily out performed a Schwinn 3 speed.

For all those who were griping yesterday (and they seem to have evaporated today)about Sunday reruns, this is from the Blowback column:Editor’s Note: Even while writing the political sitcom “Alpha House” GBT occasionally needs a vacation. (Filming on Season Two of the show wrapped recently, and all ten episodes will be released on October 24th.) When such vacations occur (as was the case this past Sunday, and will be again next Sunday) the syndicate sends out a fairly-recently-published “Flashback” strip — as it has for decades.

The rage in my area, right now, seems to be the single-speed with no brakes…holy cow! These kids are really adept at them, too. Anything but mellow in my book.

Let’s see, wheat flour is out nowadays, jacuzzis, and Tennis are not as hot. Too bad the ACLU is still hot, we could do with a little less PC crap.

I bought a Raleigh C-40 in ’02. Twenty-four speed, 700c, 11-34 teeth. When I wrecked it in ’10, I ended up putting its wheels/cassette, and some other parts, on a new Gravity Dutch.

The ACLU is mellow? Or mellow-inducing? I am so mellow that I don’t understand that, but it doesn’t bother me.

The most mellow yellow guys I have recently seen on the TV – not actors in a show – Mickey and Pete – the winners of season 2 of Amazing Race Canada. Nice guys do finish first.
