Sounds like a scratched 78rpm record!

I’d like to see an ant riding a bicycle! But why do the ants in BC have 2 legs (and no arms) instead of 6??

Pop was a hardy one. He bounced when he landed.

That’s what happens when you keep hearing that playing card in the spokes…

I read the bottom left panel and thought there was a serious screw-up in the rendering of the strip, before I caught on to what was happening. Funny!

If they ever make a bicycle helmet that doesn’t make one look like a complete dweeb I’ll consider it. Until then I’ll continue my 60yr streak of not using one.

LOL! At first when I saw the same panel repeated I thought it was a misprint!

A few years ago (before I went on disability) another employee came into the store carrying one of those really old bike helmets that looked like half a ping-pong ball. I made a comment about the interesting stories he must have with such an old helmet and he said he didn’t have any stories because nothing had ever happened after he got the helmet. Then he told the story of how why he got the helmet. He was out riding with a friend one night and he turned to look at his friend and he was gone. He braked and turned around and there was his friend where he’d fallen to the road after his bike fell apart in a freak accident. He’d been riding so fast that his head had skimmed across the curb of the road and burned off the hair and skin along the side of his head. To this day his friend still has that road burn scar, the next day my friend went out and bought his bike helmet, but nothing ever happened to him so he didn’t have any stories about it.

I’ve been riding a bike for more than 35 years (not counting childhood). I’ve always worn a helmet. In those 35 years, I’ve been hit by cars three times and wound up spinning on my back in the middle of the road. All three times my helmet cracked but my head didn’t. I still use a helmet when I’m on one of my bikes. Glad I had those helmets.
