I’m trying to figure out how Omar’s last name can be Tinoco if he’s East Asian. Wasn’t his dad Chinese?
Anyway, I for one think Omar’s playing it just right. Why not make a favorite revolutionary point (even if no one even gets it, let alone gets the connection) if you’re lucky enough to be handed a free 15 minutes of fame? So long as “cold case” is obvious enough, there’s no downside for him.
But my favorite thing about this strip - the funniest in quite a while - is the news announcer admitting “We actually just kinda want to know what’s his deal “! LOL! Plus, just perfect for Omar, about whom everyone is bound to wonder the same thing sooner rather than later.

Omar’s problem is he can’t get used to the idea that not everyone wants to fight about race.
