Transcript:
The 18th century Welsh pirate Bartholomew Black Bart Roberts was a teetotaler Christian who refuse to fight on Sundays, held services for his crew, and banned fighting on board his ships. Sterculinius was the Roman god of animal dung. 104-year-old Stanislaw Kowalski completed the 100 M Sprint and 32 seconds at the Youth Olympics in Wroclaw, Poland, in May 2014.

I guess that Black Bart missed that part about ‘thou shalt not steal’.

Yet Black Bart continued to break the eighth of the Ten Commandments (now stealing) and for sure the ninth thereof (no killing) as well as the tenth (no coveting). As for the dung god, ne’er heard of that one when used to having read Roman mythology. I wonder if Mr. Kowalski’s time going to be printed in “Guinness Book of World Records.”

Back in 1914 wasn’t Wroclaw, Poland then Breslau, Germany?

How did Stanislaw qualify for the “Youth Olympics”?
Brian Fink about 10 years ago
Wikipedia has a decent entry on him. His “Sabbath rest” was only for musicians on his ship. He did inspire the “pirates code” from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Was he the Dread Pirate Roberts?
Stephen Gilberg about 10 years ago
From what I read, most pirates had more principles than I thought. Blackbeard was a notable exception.

Well, One country’s privateer is another country’s pirate. From what I have read, Bart Roberts was pressed into piracy and was elected captain of his ship in six month’s time.
