It’s ixnay on the horror movies in this household. My daughter has terrible nightmares this time of year. We can’t even take her shopping because the decorations freak her out.

I stupidly showed my 3 yo granddaughter a Youtube video of spiders. She had nightmares and had to sleep with mommy. But she still asks to see the spiders.

A few times, our family actually made “events” out of scary movies. We kids went to bed early, then we were awakened at movie time and we all watched together. It was great fun and there were no problems.

Better than making the kid watch Springer or Maury I guess. I am no fan of the genre either. When i was younger I used to watch a show hosted by Elvira, for a couple of reasons. ; )

Depends on the movie. There are some horror movies I plan on never watching. There are others I would watch again. The Classics are always good. Frankenstein, Dracula. The Wolfman. B&W and silent movie.

I noticed you mentioned Shirley Jackson’s “the Haunting of Hill House”. It still scares me. And I don’t know how many times I have watched that movie.
