What’s wrong with being a middle child?

Nothing is wrong with being a middle child. You’re not pampered and the world is not put on your shoulders as the oldest.

@♠Lonewolf♠ I’m the only child of my parents. That would make me a sort of inverse middle child. You’re pampered and made Atlas.

Being the youngest, I was always acused by my older brothers of being pampered, though it wasn’t true.

The youngest seems pampered because when they are infants, they get all the attention, but why wouldn’t they, they’re infants and can’t do anything for themselves.

When they’re older, it appears they get away with anything because they aren’t getting yelled at. Part of that is because they watched the older ones get in trouble and learned what not to do. The other part is that the parents were already worn down by the older ones and don’t have as much fight left in them ;) Now that I’m a father of three, I know that second part to be true.

First child gets a bloody nose: Rush to the ER!

Second child gets a bloody nose: Quick, somebody grab a rag.

Third child gets a bloody nose: Don’t bleed on the carpet!

This kid just can’t win. Look at what his older brother did to his nose already!

Radish said, “The oldest is the experimental child.”

I wondered why people would ask if I were an experiment.

Last of three, here. Whatever my parents learned through their experiences with my older brother and sister, they were TOTALLY unprepared for me… I was, and remain, sui generis
