Emperor Akihito of Japan is a world authority on Goby fish and has published scientific papers and contributed two books on the subject. The South Pacific island nation of Tokelau receives all of its energy from solar power. The customary American gesture for okay is considered offensive in Russia!

I’d like to go to Tokelau for a vacation to escape this Pacific Northwestern U.S. cold spell.

That’s because the US is a bully nation! Example, they criticized Belize’s Prime Minister for not allowing a person suspected of having Ebola (however small the chance) to pass on land to an awaiting plane, while at the same time, they too would not allow the very same person to leave the ship once it reached Texas until testing confirmed negative. HHMMM…. Hypocrite MUCH!!

Tokelau may have all solar power … but their economy stinks. They run an annual deficit of $1.4million – about three times their GNP. They only survive by subsidies from New Zealand. Read it for yourself. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokelau
So, how is that ‘solar power’ thing helping the economy?
philwissbeck about 10 years ago
What does it mean exactly?
Stephen Gilberg about 10 years ago
Um, Tokelau is a New Zealand territory, not a nation.Thumbs up and peace signs also offend people in some parts of the globe. And be careful where you whistle to show appreciation.

In Arab countries too, I believe. It’s the equivalent of giving someone “the finger.”
