As a movie reviewer? []I find myself unimpressed with "horror’ movies that rely too much on gore and shock. Not only do such films rarely, if ever, have actual plots behind them, they also seem to lack anyone with acting talent. []In a worst-case scenario, these films won’t even get the gore right. []And yes, I’ve seen enough in the way of actual gore in real life to know, courtesy of such things as “The Night I Accidentally Skinned Myself Alive”. (pro tip: never watch television while tending to blisters; it won’t end well)[]I’d much rather have an old-school Hitchcock film than some of what passes for “horror” today.

Don’t worry. The fear will go away … after seeing another horror.
