It looks like someone went to a whole of trouble to get out of doing a little work.

“All of the sudden” is incorrect. It’s “all of A sudden.” This error is all over the Big Nate compilations. At least now my kid knows it’s wrong, because I keep pointing it out.

Nate is actually being creative here. He’s doing a good job of expressing his thoughts and ideas clearly (with a few lapses in style, such as his use of “like” and “uh”). If my kid wrote an essay like this for a book report I’d be impressed. Of course the next step is for him to read a more challenging book, one more suited to his age and reading level.

…….like his EXACTLY 500-word opus on “Thomas Jefferson, Founding Father” of a few years back, I find this goofball parable rather entertaining!! Laugh! LAUGH!!

The “woodchuck” reference reminds me of what’s probably my favorite tongue twister:

“How much fud could a fudpucker puck if a fudpucker could puck fud?”

It took maybe 22, 23 years for Mrs Clarke’s job to get to her.
