Body Mass Index or BMI.I heard about this once in health and the teacher was like “I don’t think this is entirely accurate as it places me at overweight. And I’m not” when he was overweight.Everyone was struggling not to laugh.BMIMrs Shipulski is underweight apparently.

The person who dreamed up the BMI said explicitly that it could not and should not be used to indicate the level of fatness in an individual.
The BMI was introduced in the early 19th century by a Belgian named Lambert Adolphe Jacques Quetelet. He was a mathematician, not a physician. He produced the formula to give a quick and easy way to measure the degree of obesity of the general population to assist the government in allocating resources. In other words, it is a 200-year-old hack.

If Mrs. Shipulski has a Body Mass Index of 18.6, it basically means 18.6% of her body contains fat.

Dang, y’all are light. My BMI is 26.6, which would mean I’m obese. But BMI calculators never take into consideration how a person’s body is built. I’m 12, I look about 120, but I’m 150.
