This was always such an odd strip. It’s so dismally black, and I know it’s not a reflection of Ed Stein’s life. I could understand it as a vent for his anger if it had been. No man should have to suffer a passive-aggressive wife who allows her mother to abuse the man who opened their home to her parents after they mismanaged their affairs so badly that they became homeless but who still carp at being asked to do the least thing to help out. And no woman deserves a man who would tolerate her behaving toward him like that. They are a thoroughly screwed up lot, and maybe it’s just more unbearable the second time around. Time to take them off the list. Bye.
she is such a miserable, miserable woman. and reading this every day really makes me angry. I’ve never boycotted comics before—but think I’m with you. I don’t want to see such awfulness first thing in the morning (although the time of my comment is much later—I generally read prior to 5 am…)

That woman is just plain screwed up in the head. Kick her out of your house.

We should send Irv and Sarah over to The Dinette Set to live with the Pennys. They would be right at home there.
