Nate: Mr. Galvin?
Mr. Galvin: What is it?
Nate: Can I go see the nurse?
Mr. Galvin: Are you sick?
Nate: Yup. Look what came out of my nose.
Mr. Galvin: That's lime yogurt.
Nate: (thinking) Rats.
Nate put lime yogurt on a napkin intending to dupe his teacher into thinking it was produced by Nate’s nose…. fake snot to get out of class… get it now?
Nate should choose his target teacher better. Mr. Galvin has been teaching forever and knows all the kids’ tricks. And a few more that the kids don’t know.
……..cheeze-whiz, the guy knows his chemistry, don’t he? Nailed the diff between machine & human produced without even picking it up to examine it……..but then, this is the guy who maybe, just maybe “taught” Marty Wright in the same building all those moons ago (see yesterday’s strip!!)?? Chortle! CHORTLE!!
Nate, he just told you in the last (non-Sunday) strip he’s been teaching for forty-two years. What make you think you can b.s. the guy?! He’s seen it all. More importantly, he’s seen more than you have. Don’t even try it.

True, however, Mr. Galvin is obviously quite, um, experienced (*cough*old*cough*), and can detect a fake-out. Or maybe he could smell the lime.

Probably a bad idea to try that on the science teacher…

Anyway, Nate, green is from allergies. Yellow means infection, right?

At my school, you don’t need proof you’re sick… You just need to say you don’t feel good to go to the nurse. :P

When you live as long as he does you notice more than others.

Lime yogurt=snot(in my opinion)
