Mr. Veeblefester: To stop you from hounding me, I am going to give you a raise in pay!
Brutus: How much?
Mr. Veeblefester: An extra three dollars each and every week!
Brutus: Oh, fiddle-de-dee!
Mr. Veeblefester: Fiddle-de-dee?
Fiddle-de-dee, Mr. Veeblefester. It translates into something you can’t print in a family comic strip, as well as being something you don’t want to say to your boss assuming you want to keep your job.
So I calculate $4,134 over a year, but the real money comes if he continues with an extra three dollars each week for more than a year – $16,380 after two years, and $36,738 total after three years! Brutus should hold him to his word!

Pretty sure he meant a one-time $156 bump in his annual salary. “Well, when you put it that way, Fiddle-de-da!”

Wow that’s an amazing $.075 an hour!!!

My first job paid $.25 an hour. $.075 would have been a 33% raise.

Now he can buy a cup of coffee. Only once a week though. Maybe he should get a job from Sprawl Mart.

3$/week raise, at 40 hrs/wk = 7 1/2 cents/hr raise. Is this “The Pajama Game” (1954)?
