I always hear the voice of John Tesh. When the comic premiered in the 1970s, Tesh was a newscaster at WSM TV in Nashville and there was much local chatter about the physical similarity (although Tesh never committed a “norts spews” to my knowledge.) He was actually pretty good. Pat Sajak was the weatherman there, the best ever – people would tune in just to see his daily routines. Oprah Winfree was a field reporter for a competitor.
Pat Sajak a weatherman? Who knew? I get the feeling he’d be a hilarious DJ or talk show host…he doesn’t have a lot of freedom on “Wheel of Fortune” but he’s built up 45 million reasons to stick it out for so long.

Okay, seriously… Am I the only one who reads Tank’s dialogue while imitating John Madden?

It’s just you.
Actually, this isn’t a bad idea. Whoever has the most frames at the end of three games, wins the match.

Which character is speaking in Madden’s voice? Tank? I don’t hear it. In the case of this strip, maybe if it was “the purist.”

I always hear Tank in MY voice (and Andy Capp, and Snoopy, and Hagar the Horrible, and especially Lio………)
