You went off on the minor “lie/lay” dichotomy but you ignored “yer” ? (Well, sir, I say I say, there’s summat to be said for accents, ain’t there just so?) I vote we all lay down and lie our layings down (by the river doncha know) just to grate on goweeders nerves just that tad bit!
