Hey, this is from a cat who used to carry around a teddy bear and a rag doll.

Satch drives?

In most jurisdictions in North America, you have to be at least 16 to get a driver’s license. I’m not sure the law specifies that you have to be human, though, nor whether human-equivalent age would count toward the age requirement. Or, Satch could drive without a license (or go golfing and drive without needing one).

I was thinking “Funny Boo Boo” was a reference to Honey Boo Boo, then I realized this strip is from 2007, so it was five years ahead of Honey!

“Smacky” was a toy rubber dinosaur Bucky appropriated from Satchel.

A texting while driving reference from 2007! Was Darby ahead of his time?

Since dogs are color blind, poor Satchel doesn’t know what color his new toy is.

Ah, the good old flip phone back before the smartphones of today.

I still use a flip phone. Nobody in their right mind calls me anyway!

Ok, I just read that Smacky wasn’t a dinosaur (like my flip phone), but I’m delighted to find out that I’m not the only one still using such a thing. Great comments today, folks!
