I ordered a complete turkey dinner for the 15 people we were having over and was told that I could pick it up anytime before noon. I went about 11:30 thanksgiving day and found the store closed. They never opened on Thanksgiving day and I found myself running all over town looking for a turkey dinner. Finally found a pre-cooked frozen turkey at a grocery store and the day was saved.
A friend of mine (yeah, I have a few of those) shot a turkey with a bow and arrow from his deck while in his pajamas. They got so used to him being out there that they stopped paying attention to what he was doing.
:-) I was cruising the meat counter and spotted a container of “Dog Bones”. I complained to the lady next to me, “That’s stupid! These bones are way too big to be from a dog, even a Great Dane!” She smiled, nervously and quickly moved away. Being retired & gray gives all sorts of opportunities for fun. ;-)

Still could be difficult to shoot given how long it’s been frozen.

Rodney never went out. He couldn’t kill a turkey and just put the hat on and went to the market.

Getting a turkey in the wild means fighting the crowd at the last minute.

It’s like having the fishmonger toss the fish to you so you could claim to have caught it.

Not being a fan of turkey, I choose Cornish Game Hens. They only take 1 hour 15 mins. to cook (and no leftovers)!
