Yellow fever it is. Runs in the family like a mighty river. I’ll bet that G-G-G-Gpa did manage to stop by the cooking tent for a meal before he dragged himself off to bed.
That’s funny.. Most men were sick and dying , Burls GGG wasn’t sick he was just chicken. Giving his spot so another can fight like a real man. The Pennys are not very patriot anyway.
…leaving the other troops to cry, “Where’s that miserable Penny? We were gonna shoot him in the back as soon as the battle started..”.But don’t think the current Penny’s aren’t patriotic. They fly the flag every Flag Day. Well… mostly. .Well… they did the first year they had it. They got it at Wallow Mart. It was on clearance. Guess where it was made..And Burl always rises for the National Anthem. Well… at events where there’s food. Well… when he figures being on his feet already will give him a head start toward the head of the food line. .And, like her mother before her, when Joy was young, she always let men in uniform have their way with her. Well… the drunk ones. Well… I guess some of them were bus drivers and milk men. Well… they didn’t really have to wear a uniform. And they must have all been drunk, because they threw up afterward. .And the great tragedy of Burl’s life is that his teenage obesity prevented him from being drafted. Well… actually, he regrets that he wasn’t kept from going to war by virtue of a rich, well-connected father.
those in the front line were called cannon fodder. I suspect grandpa earned his position well. Burl is typical of the type of so-called patriot. Thanks for serving but I ain’t going. Thats okay with me I would have not wanted Burl in my unit there were already enough goldbricks around
Hello Everyone…. I am feeling emotions about Dazz’s passing. Even though I only knew her from these forums, she and so many of you hear really have become my friends. I want to thank all of you for your camaraderie on GoComics. My time here with you is a time filled with fun and joy, and I appreciate all of you. In looking back at Dazz’s last several comments here, I thought it might be nice to repost the one I have posted below. It appears to be a comment about where she was going on the evening she passed away. It is a comment that speaks about her zest for life.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++From DAZZ: commented on Ballard Street 3 days ago
Well, I’ll have to be going soon because I’m attending the annual yule party of the 3 local Baronies. Not only will all of their Excellencies be in attendance, but most likely their Majesties as well. They would frown on one not in attendance for opening court, especially as I might not stay for closing court (I don’t stay up late at my age).
I’d like just one margarita with an extra squeeze of lime and a sliver of Susan’s magnificent cake before I leave.
