These comments mock the movie Tarzan which is a far cry from the Burroughs character. Burrough’s Tarzan was very articulate, able to teach himself language from books and art.

According to the books he read English as a result of the children’s books he found in his parents’ cabin after their death and then learned to speak French after rescuing Lt. Darnot. Later he learned to speak English. Apparently he picked up languages quickly.
