My beloved cat could sense when I was just thinking about getting up, and thus removing the comfortable lap. He would then adhere; as he already weighed nearly 30lbs, it was quite a sensation to feel him suddenly get much heavier.

My daughter’s late cat, Master Cougar Booger, scared the bajeejus out of me the first time I slept at her apartment. I woke up to find myself with 20-odd lbs. of cat on my chest, in a headlock from his front paws, and the inside of my nose being lovingly licked out while he purred loudly enough to sound like a small aircraft. My daughter swears to this day that the screech I let out broke some of her glasses.

The lap is always the best seat in the house, as it is warm, soft, and comes with automatic scratchers.
