Hard to imagine a tough linebacker flattened by a quarterback. I’m mixing eras here, but imagine Peyton Manning hitting Lawrence Taylor so hard that Taylor can’t get up.
Suppose Hale scores but there’s a flag on the play? Holding on Big John Pascoe! Milford loses! Pascoe is so upset he starts screaming at the referee. The state title is gone, but Pascoe has regained the ability to speak, and the Mudlarks celebrate at The Bucket.
Whoever predicted the one second per strip a few days ago nailed this. I’m almost thinking I’m watching that final play from the original “The Longest Yard” (the 1974 production). That play took forever.
Two things are puzzling. One, how did a powerful Shaw team not make a rematch possible? Two, Austin Shuford should have been toting the rock to paydirt. Perhaps Austin is the new Hamani “Hambone” Gaines, outstanding athlete, never has the opportunity shine because his number is called sparingly.
Hang in there Jarrod, remember 3rd grade! Oh wait, he’s already had time on this play to remember all of elementary school, he’s on to remembering middle school now …
My prediction:Tomorrow’s strip: Going to be a pileup near the goal line…showing everyone looking onFriday’s strip: The call. Was he in or wasn’t he…(he’s in)Saturday: Celebration at the Bucket, with Jarrod paying tribute to Tru(e) – There may or may not be a high five or an embrace.
Saturday, we’ll also see a re-emergence of Bitsy Twill (as President of the Bitsy Twill Fan Club (we have EES as the logo on our t-shirts), I’m privy to inside knowledge of her whereabouts. It comes with the kit.
This dramatic P3 is pretty lame if tomorrow it just says, “and he scores.” What is not lame is today’s Mopped Up Thorp. Something else that is lame, is both of Tru(e)’s shoulders.
tcar, coincidentally just yesterday met a guy who went to high school (CVS, south side) with Butkus. We were yacking while waiting for oil changes and it came up. This guy was about 70 years old, huge guy…said he was a few years behind Dick and that back then Butkus would kick the crap out of underclassmen for sport. No surprise!

In all reality , Bitsy Twill runs into J Rod while trying to escape the aliens who have held her captive . J Rod fumbles and you supply the ending .

They’re going for the laugh. The Mudlarks win and with two separated shoulders, they want Tru to “hoist the trophy”!

Chip, in high school football the QBs are often bigger than the linebackers.
