My reaction to all the “BREAKING NEWS” on our local station is to turn it off and read the newspaper. The national news in the evening is a little better, but all three major networks concentrate on the same stories, with little variation. A real snooze.

Got to sell those papers…er, drive those ratings…er, get those hits on the page. And all those numbers boil down to one thing: how much can be charged for the ads in the paper/on TV/on the website.
