My daughter took me to Walmart last week. Instead of putting carts in their shelter, some people had decided to clog up the parking spots on either side of the empty shelter with carts.
I’ve always thought that a great science project for a kid would be to spend time at the Walmart parking lot observing who did or didn’t return their shopping cart. For example, age group, male or female, with kids, with another person, alone, type of vehicle (SUV, compact car, full size car) color of vehicle, time of day… I’m sure this august company with whom I daily share enjoyment of the wonderful world of comics can think of many more.
The absolute worst is when an inconsiderate (lazy) shopper leaves a cart sitting in the middle of a reserved handicapped space! People with physical challenges have enough problems without having to park their car in the aisle, get out, move the #*!@$ cart, get back in the car, park it in the space, & then get back out again. For some of us, getting in & out of a car can be anywhere from difficult to painful.

And besides that, why didn’t you bring one in with you? You parked right next to them, you dingbat.

“In fact, our service is so good that a cart is probably in the side of your car right now.”

And make sure you get one with a squeaky wheel that can be heard throughout the entire store wherever you are.
