Exactly! That’s a very smooth transition into another concurrent event without the overused “Meanwhile…” that Mike Curtis has vowed not to use.

For those not familiar with “cosplay” (which has come up in this strip before, I think), Wikipedia says,

The term “cosplay” is a Japanese portmanteau of the English words costume and play. The term was coined by Nobuyuki Takahashi of Studio Hard while attending the 1984 World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) in Los Angeles. He was impressed by the hall and the costumed fans and reported on both in Japanese magazine My Anime.

Japanese is full of clippings of the beginnings of words and there are many examples of two such words together. Another familiar example is “Pokemon” from “pocket monster.”

Well there you GO . . . today ! – (panel 2) . . .A Vehicle with SIREN Blaring Flying right past – Gruesome and Einstein, (close to what I’d envisioned) and while it’s not those ‘reinforcements’, it didn’t take a Six Months, just . . . One tiny panel . . .. Adding in a measure of AUTHENTICITY to the ‘seriousness’ of Tracy, Sam, and the MCU !At a time when their “positives” are at a low Ebb !Better to have 3 panels more in the story, than have them look like – “Blow Hards”!.Popeye ’Wimpys’*?* BIG talk, and No Action !

Even in the Peanuts strip, when they say Linus and his Blanket, by Golly you get to SEE – a Blanket !While now, in Tracy, you hear – Reinforcements? – it’s far more likely you’ll see – Thin Air ! ??

Gotta love the scene transition, with Sparkle’s labor literally overtaking the bad guy’s escape!I also like the name tags on the costumed fans. Although, somehow, I never thought the Frankenstein monster’s first name was Sidney.

With all the characters they have woven into this arc, can Moon Maid be far behind?.What a reunion that would be!

by the way, its about time Sparkle popped that kid out.. she’s been pregnant for over a YEAR already! she announced it on the “DICK TRACY THIS IS YOUR LIFE” segment when uncle ray debuted (it was his intro into the strip wasn’t it?) and when bonnie braids came back.

if I am not mistaken, that was right before abner abducted them.. around Halloween of last year!

According to Wikipedia, “The concept of the Pokémon saga stems from the hobby of insect collecting, a popular pastime which game designer Satoshi Tajiri enjoyed as a child.” The Pokemon were meant to be like insect species that urban kids could collect, since insects are not so common in urban areas.

Pokemon was not actually the first choice for a name:

Originally called Capsule Monsters, the game’s title went through several transitions due to trademark difficulties, becoming CapuMon and KapuMon before eventually settling upon Pocket Monsters.

As long as it’s not a boy named “Junior Tracy Jr.” Their first child was named “Sparkle Plenty Junior Tracy,” a name Mike and Joe have wisely ignored.
