Players behave themselves? You have a bunch of guys who become instant millionaires that play children’s games, because they still haven’t grown up & yet you expect them to act like responsible adults? It’ll never happen.
While Goodell has overreacted with his meting out of punishment, the NFLPA has to remember that they, the players, signed the CBA that gives Goodell universal powers in ALL matters of discipline.
The only true punishment would be to completely ban players from the league as soon as they are arrested for anything . Whether they be in the NFL , college or high school… One arrest = permanent lifetime ban.
You have a bunch of guys whose job it is to beat the hell out of each other, and then you expect them to behave like little gentlemen. Violence leads to violence. They need to learn how to separate their private lives from their “job”. If they can’t, then they don’t belong inthe game.
Wonder how criminal conviction numbers compare proporationally in NFL vs NBA vs MLB vs the public at large. Suspect the public remains the worst, then NFL then NBA then MLB.

Wealthy, overgrown children who have been told all their lives that they are special? Behave themselves? Surely you jest . . . Shirley.

A similar solution exists for keeping people from being shot by cops.
