When labs retain their puppy-ishness long after what would be adulthood in other breeds, as for Doug ’s lack of growth… well that would be Red and Rover, which I also enjoy.
We had a wire-haired dog of undetermined breed and age who got into the trash can every time he could manage. This was before the hide-it-under-the-sink fashion, but he could nose open a flip-top can and grab a coffee filter in a flash. With a good shake, he could have grounds al over the walls and the floor.
A running start, hop onto the counter and slide, knocking over the glass of water, hit the wall, bounce down onto the garbage can, and topple over contents. I’ve seen this before in real life.
