While some people are clearly enjoying the new format, I’m not entirely pleased with this experiment myself. I’ll be making an announcement about this in the next day or so.
John – I really don’t like the break in the flow this format creates. Have you considered a side-by-side maybe for a few days to see how that would work? I enjoy the strip so please don’t get frustrated and give up on it. Your efforts are appreciated!
GoComics has a width restriction. So—-instead of side-by-side—-I think it’d be better to put the Last Kiss (modern) version on the top and the original (1940s-60s) version on the bottom.
John L. I see your ready to bag this experimental format and go ahead, but it was a good idea to try it. This just as a side thought; Verteran (4 post’s ago) talks about the dated attitudes of the time and maybe an actual original panel might be hysterical all on their own. Maybe once a week thing or create another strip all together using the actual words that came with them (assuming you can find those and that there are any) . like, for example, lets say the mother is telling the daughter not letting boys get to first base or some other Victorian age thinking or the parents lecturing the danger or pot smoking while they are chain smoking cigs. I cant think of any because Im not the comedian but hopefully you have an idea of what I mean. IMHO this might be interesting.
I am very flattered you responded to one of my previous posts. :)
John – It might work better to present the original strip first, then the new take on it. Seeing the old strip after the new isn’t as exciting. Reversing them would allow each of us to anticipate your twisted.. that is your twist on it.

In a double-breasted suit? I supposed he’s after double-breasted women. And he’s got two hands.

I agree, the old format was better, but I suppose he had to come up with more new material the old way.

That is a pretty small waist. Where did her insides get shoved to?

Top/ Bottom works for me. That way we can comment on both. Hopefully it won’t get too confusing.
